As the day of the festival draws near, apprehension has begun to rise in the town, and with no word coming from the brewery, the people have begun to worry. However, this year the dwarven wagons have yet to appear. The tapping of the first keg by Brewmaster Dolrin has always been a major part of the opening ceremony, and everyone looks forward to sampling the year’s brews.
Every year the dwarves bring massive kegs of Anvil Amber, Honey Malt, and the very rare Glowshroom Dark to the festival. No more than two days ride from Haldon Hollow stands the Stonehearth Brewery, home of the Copperwick dwarves and the finest ales and malts of the frontier. The most anticipated arrival though, is much more local. Sweet confections from the ports of Valdoril, salted meats from the plains of Danse, and exotic fruits from as far south as the jungles of Galgoro. Merchants from the neighboring villages have traveled up the Pilgrim’s Road to participate, bring with them the foods and goods from the southern kingdoms. As the day approaches, the people of the quiet hamlet have begun preparations for their annual harvest festival. Soon the golden moon will rise, signaling the end of summer and the start of the fall season. The hamlet is populated by a variety of people from all the goodly races, living simple lives away from the politics and crowds of the big cities.Īs autumn approaches and harvest time draws near, Haldon Hollow is a buzz with excitement. Isolated and self-sufficient, Haldon Hollow has remained largely ignored and overlooked by the rest of the kingdom, and has been happy to remain that way.
